My August Vellvette Bag

Hello Lovelies!

I am back with my august vellvette bag post. After a hectic day at work, i was happy seeing that my vellvette bag had arrived. Which lasted only till i saw the contents of the bag. I am beyond disappointed, more like irritated with vellvette. Read on to know why...

As you can see, this time we are getting these black bags instead of the box. Looks much better then the pink bag in my opinion. I am one of the few people who actually enjoyed receiving the boxes i guess. That does not mean i don't like the bag, just the box better :p

Just Herbs Age Defying Treatment Kit 

So the beauty experts at vellvette who apparently 'hand pick' the beauty samples have decided to repeatedly send random samples to me. Its like a constant mission to target me specifically to send their 'just herbs' samples, regardless of whether they are meant for my skin or my age. 

Your sending me youth preserving samples and well erm i am still in my youth!  Unless i am mistaken and got everything including my age wrong. Really now. This is getting very very annoying. Last time i received a kit from the same brand 'just herbs' that was meant for oily skin and i have dry combination skin. Now this? I have already sent vellvette a very angry email regarding this. it's simply not done.

H2o+ Marine Eye Cream

I don't care how effective this product is simply because i have no issues there. If only vellvette had attempted to refer to my questionnaire they would have known WHAT to send to me. I can't say anything further about this sample.

 Sally Hansen Lip Plumper- Clear

After the first 2 products, i am really put off to even talk about the others. But i don't want to be unfair. So this is the only full size product in this months bag.It is clear, which i am glad for since i do not use colour lip gloss. I have used the Fusion Beauty LipFusion Micro Injected collagen (phew) lip plumper previously, so i am not exactly new to the world of lip plumbers. The good thing is now i can compare the two to see which one works better.

SK-II Facial Treatment Cleansing Gel

This is a very tiny sample of SK-II cleansing gel, good for one or 2 uses i reckon. It is basically a make up remover. My mom uses the SK-II power cream and seems to love it. I would have been happy to try this if my mood wasn't so sour :'(

Final Verdict:

Cannot wait for my subscription to end (which is next month yay) and i don't think i will be renewing it either. I know there are hits and misses every month but sending samples like this is appalling. Like Anti- ageing products (!!). Vellvette must really pay attention to this issue if they want to retain their customers. After months of receiving random samples either not meant for my skin type or my taste, i have given up on vellvette. This is a honest request to vellvette, please pay attention to your customers profile before you send out the bags/boxes.

Now good news guys! i am planning to try the international beauty boxes which deliver to India from next month..cant wait :)

My July Vellvette Box

Hello!

Yes, i am alive..incase anyone thought this blog has been abandoned. Its been so long now, been busy with work and don't get me started on 'work'..or else ill be cribbing about it endlessly here. The weather is awesome, does anyone feel we should get a monsoon break? like no work, nothing..just be a vegetable and enjoy the weather. *sigh* Moving on, here is my july box!

Sally Hansen Miracle Cure

My first thoughts? - 'Oh god why!'.. i thought it was a nail polish but i am glad it is not (yes shame on me, i don't like nail paint :/ ). It says its a miracle cure for severe problem nails..hmm now why would they send it to me randomly without knowing anything about my nails? But i guess its not a bad thing..i have applied it on  2 of my nails ( i am lazy) and it looks like a nice shiny top coat. Maybe i will use it just to get that shine on my nails, looks neat. Also to all those who were wondering about the product expiry, worry not, it is good until 2015! As you can see, there is a label on the gold cap with the expiry details. And i did notice the gold cap was a bit worn out, but i don't mind it.

LA Splash Glitter Mascara

 Another full size LA Splash product! Interesting. I got the blue eyeliner in the previous box and found it average, id also say this brand is pretty mediocre in terms of product quality. The packaging looks cool though. I tried this mascara and found it pretty average, also the glitter is not visible.

Just Herbs Treatment Kit

So this is what people got in their June bags. But what i don't understand is why me? This one clearly says for oily skin. (a) I don't have oily skin, as mentioned numerous times, even via email to vellvette ( i won't mention the 'questionnaire' since by now we all know there is no relation between our preferences and the products we receive). (b) I DONT HAVE OILY SKIN! Can you stop sending me face wash and stuff which is NOT for my skin type? 

On a brighter note, i might try the pack on..and then layer my face with moisturiser, lets see how it works.

Nail Art Stickers

Nail Art Stickers..hmm i guess its a cool thing :/ ? I don't use stuff like this.. but i guess its a cool addition. Maybe a friend will like this? Maybe it will be hoarded and stored in that little black box brimming with unused samples?

Crab Tree and Evelyn VIP KIT

So i was wondering what is so 'VIP KIT' about this thing? i mean i got 2 sachets of lotion. is that VIP? Nevertheless i am happy with it :D. Why? i really like the VIP members card i received, its so cute and i get 10% discount on their products. Cool right?

I got the evelyn rose hand therapy sachet and the rosewater body lotion sachet. Last month i received the sisley face mask sachet which is lying unused. I got the the remy laure sachet, clinique foundation sachet in the previous months- all lying unsed. The point? Sachets are the least used sample products, atleast in my case.

Oh look what i got, isnt it super cute? This card enables me a 10% discount and sale previews, promotions etc. i am happy :)

Final Verdict:
Satisfied. i have no particular dislike to any of the samples i received (even the one for oily skin, really!). It has value for money i guess..i get shiny nails (when and if i ever use it)..and a new average mascara. My fav is the C& E VIP card. hehe.

Random Update:
June Bag-
So wondering where the june box went? Oops the bag. The thing is i was all ready to post the pictures for the bag when i received it, but decided to wait on it since i had ordered another one for my sister as a surprise. Guess what? It never arrived, they mailed me ages later saying there was some courier issue etc etc. I was pissed at them since my sister was really looking forward to get her box. So by the time they were ready to ship it, i didn't want it anymore. Thus the pictures of my box/bag were abandoned.
What did i get? I got the very lush I love..strawberry milkshake body wash, La Blue eyeliner, Tony and Guy Conditioner and the Sisley face mask. All in all..a pretty satisfying bag- i loved the body wash. Rest is lying unused (yet again).

Amino Collagen-
I have almost 4k and counting hits on this particular post! wow. So i know it is time to update.. infact had clicked loads of pictures etc..but i can't seem to find it :/ . But i shall be updating soon. It is imperative.

Asos-
A post coming soon (soon is ambiguous in this context hehe). I have ordered 4 pair of shoes- 3 wedges and 1 stiletto, make up and a wallet. So one pair of wedges has already arrived but there seems to be a massive delay with the other stuff this time but i am being patient.

Life-
I know this is getting long and never ending and maybe you should stop reading now since i want to ramble.
Life is going good...hectic with work and all i seem to do nowadays is crib about how i don't have time to do anything anymore. is this how adult life is? i miss school and college for the simple reason - HOLIDAYS *sobs*. Does anyone want to crib about work? *hopeful eyes*.

My March Vellvette Box 2013 ! -

Hello !

So after the longest wait, my march vellvette box  arrived today!
here's a first look of the box along with a pleasant surprise *omg*
Totally loving the colourful ribbon ;p

Contents:

I haven't heard of 'real DNA' creams or remy laure for that matter and i don't really mind trying out new brands but what i do mind is receiving 1 sample sachet of this around 4k product...! i mean how can i invest in a product worth 4k by just trying this sachet?
If remy laure really wants people to buy their products, they need to at least give decent size samples...we as consumers are spoilt for choice with  plethora of amazing brands and products and this one sachet doesn't cut it. plus i couldn't even find reviews online, oh and bdw its sold on flipkart etc too.
Will i try it? yes, not me actually...will give it to my mom..since i am using too many skin products at the moment, this one won't make a difference (considering its a sachet and all...just saying)

2. Lush Dream Cream

 Probably the only product i was happy with in this month's box!
It is a really tiny tin sample...looks really cute!  i tried this dream cream...its too less for large patches so i am using it on my palms...love the feel of this cream! Nice texture...Though i'd say it doesn't make my skin smell as nice as other creams i use, nevertheless its a cute sample ;D

                                            3. NYX Round Lip Gloss in Sparkle

I know a lot of people would be happy to receive a make-up product and trust me so would i (not really) BUT not this! i mean firstly no offence to NYX( i do own their matt creme lip things!) but it is not a LUXURY brand. if i want NYX, i will go and buy it and not think twice about it. PERIOD.Who needs a sample for a 300bucks lip gloss neway?!
Plus this looks like a full size lip gloss, what is the point of it ..*wondering*
And receiving it in this box feels like a waste of money since i will never use this gloss ever, ask why?
well apart from the fact i don't use lip gloss (i mentioned in my profile my style is subtle natural, obviously i was joking since they did'nt take it seriously)

This particular gloss has the biggest SPARKLES, yes SPARKLES in this entire world! like you put it on your lips and you can see the little glitter particles, which even stay behind AFTER you wipe the gloss off. i like pink...i seriously hoard pink stuff but this is ridiculous?!?
i wish they just called it a 'bonus' product...because then i wouldn't feel so strongly about it!
it is like sticking the pink vellvette paper on your lips, except more sticky with bigger glitter particles ;/ *phew*

                                            4. Perry ellis Perfume Sample - *BONUS*

Erm yes, this is the same perry ellis sample you guys received some months back...since i am subscribing since jan, i guess i get all the extra random samples lying around at vellvette now as a bonus product..(considering i hastily subscribed to another 6 months *greedy*).
What can i say...i'd never pay for this tiny sample (miniatures are different!) so as long as they don't include it as one of the 3 samples, i'll be ok..i guess.
Though smells nice..but don't like it enough to purchase it.

5. Meiji Amino Collagen Drink- *BONUS*

i was totally not expecting  this..and i  must say i am pleasantly surprised! Really! i googled it immediately, its a well known japanese drink, mostly positive reviews on amazon and other user reviews AND i have already started using it since 3 days :D !
Since the ingredients are natural i was not too scared to take it (have you ever tried omega-3 supplements? just asking)

So finally i'd say the march box was a sort of a flop (Read: sachets,nyx,sparkles)!
Nothing from the box i'd want to purchase...except the Meiji amino drink if i like it, might purchase and that was also outside the box. I did like the lush tiny winy sample of dream cream too.

Ps: You'd be surprised what i got in this months enchantess bag! *omg* This is the first month i subscribed and it even arrived on time! woot woot!

My First Vellvette Box Jan 2013

Whats in my Vellvette Jan 2013 Box?

this is my first post and about my first vellvette box! how awesome...right? ever since i saw pictures of these boxes online, i was dying to get my hands on them ASAP! so i got myself a 3-month subscription. After days of dreaming about it, mine finally arrived today *omgsmiley*.

This is what i got !
(no box pictures sorry. too excited to open it)

1. Nyassa Belgian Chocolate scrub (40gms)   2. OPI Nail Lacquer (3.75ml)

3. Bath & Body Works (59ml)

NYASSA BELGIAN CHOCOLATE SCRUB

           ( So i have noticed this little tin is a constant in most of the boxes for this month :D )

t smells and looks REALLY yummy. Im not a fan of scrubs...i don't generally use scrubs (shame on me) but i am willing to try it as part of my new skin care regimen! But i feel these visible sugar crystals will be to harsh on the skin, let's see.
 The product is alot less for the tin though, it just settles at the bottom of the tin.

OPI NAIL LACQUER in "Red lights ahead where..."

Mini OPI nail polish * yay * its a very flattering red colour, applies smoothly, one coat is good enough.
i have used OPI before, obviously so i was not very excited to see it in my first box or any box ever. BUT at least they got the colour right..but then again OPI does have lovely shades. Anyway...one can not have too many reds right? ;) *makes self feelbetter*

Bath & Body Works - Dark Kiss Body Lotion

This was the only product i liked and i mean REALLY liked it (notice the caps?)
It smells so good, i keep sniffing my arms for the scent. its that good. Pretty strong, floral..hard to describe the scent exactly...sensuous (?! ) its more of a night time/winter scent AND also very long lasting. It does not make my skin particularly soft..i guess my skin is the same just that it has an awesome scent to it!

Sad part?  yes there is a sad part, strangely this unsealed bottle of lotion had spilled/leaked in the box..?! Does that happen :s
I am definitely going to purchase the fullsize..! (my mom, sister loved it too, so we are abit it an emergency to buy the fullsize. lol )

So overall i am guess satisfied, only because i got the dark kiss lotion. the 3-month subscription cost me Rs 1199/- and i paid COD . i received discount coupons to use on the vellvette website to purchase the full-size products.

PS: My sister ordered one too! we also gifted one to a friend, yet to arrive though. Cant wait to see what they get, hopefully she does not get the same things as i, we (sis) live in the same house and don't want two of the same products.

UPDATE: My sister received 2 of the same products as me, the nyassa belgian scrub and opi nail paint (white) and a very tiny biotherm face cleanser. She did not like anything and refused to subscribe any further.
The friend we gifted was a bit older, she received the bath & body works body lotion in sweet pea, nyassa scrub and anna andre lip colour.
